Westhost.co.uk was officially formed as a Web Hosting & Design company in July 2005. Before this we all worked as freelance Web designer and developers.
We decided to form a hosting company mainly due to the poor service that most other hosting companies provide. At Westhost.co.uk strive to offer a level of customer support which has been un seen before in the hosting industry.
Our number one priority is to offer our customers a second to none level of service, this means our hosting needs to be reliable, available 100% of the time and in the event of disaster have a plan of action for a fast recovery.
To ensure that our hosting service is 100% reliable we only use brand new, high quality Dell Poweredge servers. All of our servers have in built redundancy so if any of the three main components fail, the second will transparently takeover without affecting any of the services.
All of our servers are located in Redbus Interhouse datacentres, the data centre has 24/7 access and features state of the art fire and power failure protection. In the event of a problem, Redbus is only a 30 minutes drive from our offices, this enable us to get an engineer on site very quickly.
In April 2006 we put our second server into commission, we never overload our servers and the load is always well below an acceptable limit. To give our customers the most reliable service, we always have a hot spare server available. In the event of a catastrophic un repairable failure we can replace the server with our hot spare, and reload all customers data from the previous nights backup.
When it comes to our coding skills, nobody puts as much time and effort into there work as we do. We pride ourselves on supplying high quality, bug free code to our customers. Our developers are passionate about there work and are always learning new techniques to get more out of the web.
